Vancouver, BC – May 6, 2016 – Aspect Biosystems is pleased to announce the appointment of Tamer Mohamed as President and Chief Executive Officer effective May 3, 2016. As one of Aspect's co-founders, Mr. Mohamed has played a critical role in the company's overall corporate, business, and technology development. In his previous appointment as Chief Technology Officer of the company, Mr. Mohamed drove the innovation and development of the company's core technologies and intellectual property. He was integral to the company's research and development and is a co-inventor of all of Aspect's patents. Mr. Mohamed was also heavily involved in the company's research collaborations and partner and customer engagements.

sociate Professor at UBC in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, has led the company and founding team from an idea in the lab to become one of Canada's most exciting and internationally-recognized startup companies. Dr. Walus will serve as the company’s new Chief Technology Officer effective May 3, 2016.

Mr. Mohamed earned his B.A.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering and M.A.Sc. in Electrical and Computer Engineering at UBC. While completing his M.A.Sc. degree, he co-founded Aspect Biosystems. He started his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering at UBC, but left the program to pursue his entrepreneurial ambitions and focus his efforts on building and growing Aspect Biosystems.
